Redding Community Choir Winter Concert, 2012
(For those of you new to Utube, click on the play arrow in the photo.)
There was one thing last year that ALWAYS brought tears to my eyes as I stumbled my way through advanced-stage pancreatic cancer. And that is how humbled I was to have so many dear, dear people reach out to me.
Some listened. Some brought food. Some sent cards. Some sent gifts. Some prayed. Some visited. Some accompanied me while at chemo. Some phoned. Some emailed. Some drove to San Francisco to visit me during my two month hospital stay. Some were tender medical providers who cared. In other words, everyone gave me love.
EVERYONE!
I was wrapped not only in the arms of a loving God, but in the embrace of those He loves through.
All of you can never know how deeply your love penetrated me. You brought me to my knees. You brought me to life. Thank you!
Never underestimate the power of your love!
I haven’t written a note to all of you who walked with me on my journey last year, so this is it. This is my love note to you, and to all of those who have been touched by suffering. Bless you.
As you navigate through this season of good wishes and gift giving, may you be reminded that the love you give is the most precious gift of all! And may you also be reminded that we all sing in the same choir!
“You Raise Me Up” sung by the Redding Community Choir.
p.s. You’ll forgive that I am the main focus. My husband Mike was the photographer. 🙂
Did Mike record the song? I want to hear you sing!
Merry Christmas!
Nevermind, I found it 🙂
I always knew you are a resourceful sort! Merry Christmas to you, too!
Great pictures… Music feeds the soul for sure! Merry Christmas and Happu New Year!
Hi George, You are a music master! Your songs feed the soul! Merry Christmas to you, too.
What a wonderful post, and what wonderful sharing before the song! Bless you for always lifting me up too!
Bless you for showing me how to download the videos to u tube. Or is that upload? 🙂 You and I lift each other!
This power that generates love and connection comes from an amazing source of energy, too mysterious to explain yet too real to ignore! I’ve been thinking similar thoughts of gratitude for the prayers, support, and encouragement that has come to me this year from so many caring people. I am glad to know your choir is so alive and well! I’m pretty sure I’ll be seeing you sometime in 2013. I look forward to that adventure!
“Too mysterious to explain” is poetry! I so want to see you again. Will have to wait to see if it’s on the East or West coast! But let’s make it happen!
Beautiful words spoken by you Gayle. Truly inspiring. Great to seeing you looing so well. My Dad doing well also, Thank God. Nollaig Shona!!!!!!!
I’ve wondered about your father. As you know, pancreatic cancer is tough! Thanks for the kind words, and the kind greeting!
Thank you Gail, for you raise me up often in your smile and hope and trust and vision, even though many miles we are apart, we are together. Thank you and keep having these wonderful moments of love sharing.
Sweet Sandra, I remember the much needed body work you gave me at Kripalu a few years ago. You helped raise my body to its upright position, thus raising my spirits. Hope you’re continuing to help others as much!
Hi Gayle,
We miss you at choir . . . you lift us all up with your courage and love of life . .
Take care, Margie
How sweet for you to say so, Margie! I miss choir, too. Singing is one of the pleasures of life! Singing with friends is even better.
